A 100% road-approved exhaust system (Switzerland) for the BMW R100 models is now available in our shop!

Important note: Road approval is valid in Switzerland. We cannot guarantee whether the approval is also valid in your country. Please clarify for yourself!

Complete kit

The exhaust system consists of a total of two hand-welded manifolds and two rear silencers, perfectly suited to the boxer engines of the BMW R100 models. Absolutely high quality, 100% handmade. Of course, the kit is delivered with the entire fastening material.

Rear silencer in detail

The rear silencers of our exhaust kit BDM ® Shorty are hand-welded piece by piece! In the classic conical style, the exhaust system of the BMW R100 gives both a sporty appearance and an excellent sound. Thanks to the very short version perfectly suitable for all Cafe Racer, Bobber and Scrambler conversions.

Of course, the rear silencers are insulated to a high standardin order to be able to meet the Swiss noise regulations. A suitable, removable DB killer per rear silencer is included. In order to meet the exhaust regulations in your country, we have designed the rear silencers so that you can easily install a corresponding catalytic converter from the accessory (must be purchased separately) per exhaust pipe. You can thus meet the required CO2 limits.

The kit includes two different cover grilles at the end of the rear silencers:

• 1x flat GP style (set)
• 1x rounded GP style (set)

So you can choose what your exhaust should look like!

Curvature in detail

The manifolds consist of 18 different and hand welded parts – available for 38mm cylinder outlets. The installation is easy with the original star nut and springs as a connection to the rear silencer. If you have 40 mm outlets, you can easily use an adapter sleeve with 1 mm wall (not included). The adapter sleeves can be found here.

The exhaust kit for all BMW R100 models includes:

• 2x Rear Silencer
• 2x DB Killer
• 2x Manifold (38 mm outlet)
• Complete fastening material
• GP grid in two different versions (straight or curved)

The complete exhaust system was black ceramic coated with a special colour that is stand-by up to 1500°C. Don’t you think so? Then look here:

Road approval in Switzerland

The exhaust system is 100% road-approved in Switzerland for the BMW R100 models! No noise measurements are necessary. You only have to show your motorcycle on your MFK / road traffic office.

Road approval is only valid in combination and in use with the DNA sports air filters! The combination of original air filter and exhaust system is NOT road-approved! The catalysts offered by us in the shop must be installed IN THE FOLLOWING!

The certificate is valid for the following type certificates (also valid for self-imports with type certificate X!):

Important: The motorcycle must be approved for the first time during this period: 07.1977 – 09.1982 – if the approval is sooner or later, the DTC certificate is NOT valid!

Carburetor nozzle

After purchasing the kit, we will let you know the optimal nozzle for your BMW R100, so that the air/fuel mixture is ideal. No long test rides / changes at carburetors necessary!

Side stand

Depending on the model, it is necessary to adjust the side stand! To match this, we have produced a CNC-ready side stand. The side stand hides perfectly behind the exhaust and is perfectly fitting without any further adjustments. Assembly within 5 minutes!

Foot brake lever

For models where the foot grids are screwed on to the rear engine axle, the brake lever of the monolever must be installed Otherwise, the foot brake cannot be operated!
